Connecting AI assistants (MCP)

AI assistants (MCP)

You can connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to your reporting data, then ask it questions in plain words. You do not have to export a report and read it yourself. "Which classes next month are under half full?" becomes one question instead of a spreadsheet. You can set this up yourself. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants understand.

Read-only, and it stays that way. An assistant using this connection cannot book, cancel, refund or email anyone. It only answers questions about figures you already have in your reports.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT

  1. In Claude, open FullClass in Claude's connector directory and click Connect, then go on to step 3. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode first, then add a custom connector there. ChatGPT moves these screens around, so search its settings if they are not where you expect.
  2. Enter https://app.fullclass.io/mcp as the URL. Leave the client ID and secret boxes empty, because the two sides sort that out themselves. In Claude, you can also add the same URL as a custom connector if you prefer.
  3. You are sent to FullClass. Sign in if you need to, check what the connection will be allowed to read, and approve it.
  4. Ask your first question in a new conversation.
ChatGPT needs developer mode. A connector that brings its own tools, like this one, only works in ChatGPT's developer mode. ChatGPT's deep research connectors are a different feature. They expect a set of tools this connection does not have, so add it as a custom connector, not as a research source.
The connection belongs to you and your studio. It uses the account you signed in with, so it reads that studio and no other. If several people at your studio want it, each one connects their own.

Connect a different tool

This part is for a web person using another MCP tool. Other MCP clients work too. A client that takes a fixed token instead of a sign-in can use a secret API key. Create one under Settings → API Keys and send it as a bearer token to the same /mcp address. Treat that key like a password, as described in API keys.

What it can answer

Ask about What comes back
Your schedule Upcoming events with their size and spots booked, 30 days ahead unless you ask for a different range.
One event Its size, spots booked, and how many spots are in someone's checkout right now.
Fill rates Spots booked compared with size over a date range, grouped by class or by month.
What needs promoting Upcoming events below a fill level, emptiest first. Half full unless you ask for another level.
Bookings How many bookings over a date range, with cancellations and failed payments shown separately.
Revenue The total of class bookings, gift cards sold and private event buyouts.
Attendance Spots booked compared with people who came, with no-shows shown separately.

Dates are whole calendar days in your report time zone, the same setting your reports use, and the end date is included. Every answer says which time zone it used.

What it cannot see

  • No customer details. No names, emails or phone numbers. An event reports how many spots sold, never who bought them.
  • No payment records. It cannot read your payments, refunds or gift card records.
  • No join links. The meeting link for an online class is left out, for the same reason your public booking page leaves it out.

Two money numbers, and which one to quote

Ask for revenue and you get the same figure as the bottom of your revenue report. That is the one to quote. The booking summary also gives a money figure. It is the plain sum of booking totals for bookings created in those dates, so it shows sales activity, not revenue. The two will not match. The assistant sees this warning next to the numbers themselves, not only on a help page like this one.

Refunds work the same way as in your revenue report. A fully refunded booking is left out completely. A partial refund is shown next to the total, not taken off it. See Bookings and payments for why.

See and remove connections

Settings → Connected apps lists everything connected to your studio, who approved it and when. Revoking one there cuts it off straight away. A connection renews itself while it is in use, so revoke one you no longer want instead of waiting for it to run out.
